p5js is nice, in js and cannot be denied that it boosted the popularity of processing as de facto, web langs have their ide (editor+the browser) more than available
p5js has set itself apart from processing aiming to forge an identity for itself
the website theme is inconsistent to begin with with other official processing sites
the odd man out / most far from the original website is … you pick
john resig’s implementation disappeared
it adds features not included in the original processing vers
it’s dom lib is good or bad? a flop
it boasts
powered by js it consideres itself as the one bringing a new revolution (debate : is js a nice language math.pow(0) … humanity deserves less crappiness)
ive done a lot of things about how “y is not in the spirit of x” so im glad im not the only person that thinks that way.
p5js deserves a chance to be different and do different things, but when you say “it boasts”– a lot of new things are a little unreasonable about that. “dump that lousy old thing you like for a lousier new thing today!” and thats always irksome. i hope they get more reasonable about that part of it.
it sounds like it has a couple good ideas, but your complaints are probably just as valid as their good ideas are.

just as a long time processing user, p5js seems like a fork than a port
if it claims to be independent ok np but if it claims affiliation, some stuffs stuck

and what does p5js dom lib. processing is a canvas api and so, a dom lib is out of scope
